Cow Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is a very common and important problem in infants. Many families make many mistakes that exacerbate the baby’s problem until the condition is diagnosed. Mothers may feed the baby thinking, “He is hungry”. The baby cannot digest cow’s milk, so it complains and cries. Parents of babies who experience certain symptoms should keep cow’s milk allergy in mind and inform their doctor correctly. The 5 problems experienced in cow’s milk allergy, which is quickly eliminated with a special diet when diagnosed, can be listed as follows:

Constipation or diarrhea

One of the major problems experienced by babies with cow’s milk allergy is intestinal problems. These babies cannot digest a special protein in milk. This leads to digestive system problems such as diarrhea and constipation in infants.

Gas problem

Statements such as “He is a gassy baby” or “When he was a baby, his father was a difficult baby like this” should bring cow’s milk allergy to mind. The rate of babies who go to the doctor with gas problems and are diagnosed with cow’s milk allergy is around 5 percent. Such babies may experience severe abdominal pain and gas after they are full.

Vomiting

These babies often cannot digest what they eat and vomit soon after they are full. In other words, cow’s milk that the mother gives the baby or that the baby gets from ready-made formula touches the baby. Since the baby’s stomach cannot tolerate the protein in cow’s milk, the body tries to eliminate it. Cow’s milk allergy has been found in 20 percent of children with reflux.

Respiratory tract infection

Respiratory tract infections occur in 20-30 percent of cow’s milk allergy. When the body does not want milk, sneezing, sneezing and often upper respiratory tract infections occur.
