die mit Schwellungen (\u00d6demen) der Haut und der inneren Organe ohne Urtikaria (Nesselsucht) einhergehen kann. Anstelle von Juckreiz stehen Schmerzen und ein Spannungsgef\u00fchl im Vordergrund. Das heredit\u00e4re Angio\u00f6dem entsteht durch andere Mechanismen als die Entwicklung von allergischen Erkrankungen. Ein heredit\u00e4res Angio\u00f6dem tritt auf, wenn die Menge des &#8222;C1-Inhibitors&#8220; im Blut niedrig ist oder seine Funktion beeintr\u00e4chtigt ist. Bei Fehlen oder eingeschr\u00e4nkter Funktion des C1-Inhibitors kommt es zu einem Anstieg von Bradykinin, einem sehr wirksamen Gef\u00e4\u00dferweiterer. Das heredit\u00e4re Angio\u00f6dem wird vererbt. Die Mehrheit der Patienten hatte niedrige C1-Inhibitorwerte (Typ I), in einer kleinen Anzahl von F\u00e4llen ist der C1-Inhibitor funktionell unzul\u00e4nglich (Typ II).
